Lords Amendment No. 9: In Clause 5, page 7, line 4, after "this" insert "Part of this".

I beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment.

I ask that with this Amendment, Mr. Deputy-Speaker, the following 19 similar Lords Amendments be taken: Nos. 11, 12, 15 to 18, 20 to 27, 29, 31, 35, 38 and 40.

Perhaps I may help and say that now that the hon. Gentleman has got the formula for moving the Amendments right we are happy to have these Amendments taken together.

I am obliged. These are drafting Amendments. In accordance with drafting practice, where an Act is set out in two or more Parts and a provision in it does not relate to the whole Act, it is the practice to make this clear by relating that provision to the relevant Part or Parts.

Lords Amendment No. 10: In Clause 5, page 7, line 36, leave out from beginning to "the".

I beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment.

The words proposed to be left out are unnecessary and misleading. As the preceding subsection includes the words which are being left out, they are unnecessary. The words are: Subject to any conditions imposed under this section.
