HC Deb 05 February 1965 vol 705 c1492

Order for Second Reading read.

Hon. Members

Object.

Mr. Speaker

I hear objection. What day?

Mr. Leslie Hale (Oldham, West)

On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. I did not hear an objection. I thought that there was no objection.

Mr. Speaker

I am sorry, but I heard objection, and I cannot do anything about it. It is a matter for my hearing.

Mr. Hale

Then I must answer by saying Friday, 5th March. Do I understand, Mr. Speaker, that the objection came from this side of the House?

Mr. Speaker

I can never undertake to say from what angle the sound reaches my ears. I have to act on the sound reaching it. I accept the hon. Gentleman's date, but I have forgotten what it was.

Mr. Hale

Friday, 5th March.

Second Reading deferred till Friday, 5th March.
