§ 27. Mr. Henry Clarkasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the payment of the subsidy on the 1960 potato crop to farmers who grew potatoes in Northern Ireland in that year.
§ Mr. John MackieI am sorry I have nothing to add to the Answer I gave to the hon. Member for Mid-Ulster (Mr. Forrest) on 20th January.
§ Mr. ClarkWould the hon. Gentleman keep in mind that the continued failure to make a decision on this matter is damaging the confidence which previously existed between farmers in Northern Ireland and Ministry of Agriculture officials?
§ Mr. MackieThat cannot possibly be the case, because the previous Government took more than four years with this job and we have been only three months and we are nearer to a decision than they were.
