asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs when he expects to publish the results of the regional study on the South-East.

Does the Minister realise that this news will be received with great joy by local authorities in the south-east region which are very considerably handicapped by the long wait for this study to be published? Does he realise that the London County Council has had some 12,000 planning applications and Middlesex 16,000 applications in the period since the study was commenced?

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the publication of these proposals on 19th March will create immediately a new demand for a run on land? Will he undertake to publish these new proposals for land acquisition in advance of use before the 19th March?

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Industry, Trade and Regional Development and President of the Board of Trade has already announced that with the South-East study on 19th March a White Paper will be published.
