§ 27. Mr. G. M. Thomsonasked the Secretary for Technical Co-operation for what periodicals he accepted responsibility at the inception of his Department; how many of these have ceased publication or are about to cease publication; and what plans he has for new periodicals.
Mr. CarrThe "Journal of Local Administration Overseas" and "Oversea Education", of which the latter ceased publication in January, 1963. I have no plans for new periodicals. There are, of course, many other periodicals published by organisations which work under the ægis of my Department.
§ Mr. ThomsonIs the Minister aware that in addition to the two he mentioned there is also "Corona", which has ceased publication, and also the "Community Development Clearing House Bulletin", which is, I understand, about to cease publication? While accepting that in the new circumstances of the ending of the colonial era these previous publications are not appropriate, is it not important to adopt new publications for the new conditions?
Mr. CarrThe publications mentioned by the hon. Member were never the responsibility of my Department, but I will keep in mind what he says.
