§ Mr. BrockwayI rise to present a Petition which has been signed by 217 students and members of the staff at Reading University. As it is a short Petition, perhaps it would be for the convenience of the House if I read it and saved the time of the Clerk of the House in doing so. The Petition reads:
To the Honourable the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled.We, the undersigned students and staff of Reading University, beg that Her Majesty's Government of Great Britain and Northern Ireland take such action as they consider appropriate to implement the recent decisions of the General Assembly of the United Nations calling for the abandonment of the Rivonia trial and the immediate release of all political prisoners.And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray, &c.
