§ 39. Mr. Rankinasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the prospects of a new secondary high school for Govan.
§ Mr. RossGlasgow Education Authority proposes to start this project as soon as it is ready, which is now expected to be early next summer.
§ Mr. RankinI must be satisfied with at least one crumb of support. I am sorry that the commencing date is so late as next summer. I thank my right hon. Friend for his statement, but could he assure me that once the project is started it will be carried forward with the greatest possible speed?
§ Mr. RossI can assure my hon. Friend that it could not be started any earlier, because at this stage we are in process of planning. I thank him for his measured thanks.
