Mr. Patrick Wall

I beg leave to present a Petition to this honourable House on behalf of Ngwenyama Sobhuza II, Paramount Chief of Swaziland and King of the Swazi nation, who petitions on behalf of himself and on behalf of the Swazi nation.

This Petition seeks relief on matters of principle arising out of the proposed new constitution for Swaziland and it concludes with the following Prayer:

Wherefore your Petitioner prays that: The honourable House of Commons should direct that the constitution for Swaziland should incorporate the method of election for the Legislative Council as herein set out; provide for the recognition of the Protectorate status of Swaziland, and accord to your Petitioner his rightful status with commensurate powers in the Government of Swaziland. The Petition ends: Your Petitioner, as in duty bound, will ever pray.

To lie upon the Table.
