§ 25. Mr. Loveysasked the Minister of Labour whether he is satisfied that there is no inequality in arranging for reemployment of British subjects returning to this country from overseas.
§ Mr. GodberBritish subjects who return to this country from overseas are entitled to the full facilities of the employment exchange service to assist them in obtaining employment. If my hon. Friend has any particular problem in mind, I will be glad to look into the matter.
§ Mr. LoveysDoes not my right hon. Friend agree that the services of the Overseas Resettlement Bureau for Employment could be made available to local government officers who have served overseas and who have had to return because of new arrangements by emerging territories, as well as to the Crown Agents and to colonial officers, who are the only people to receive the benefit of this service at present?
§ Mr. GodberI should like to look into that. The Bureau, to which my hon. Friend referred, was set up for this particular purpose and for the people for whom we have particular responsibility. I was not aware of the difficulties in relation to the class of people which he mentioned, but if he would let me have particulars, I should be glad to look into it.
