15. Mr. Cleaver

asked the Minister of Transport how many road accidents occurred in the Yardley constituency of Birmingham during the last 12 months; and how these compare with those in the City of Birmingham as a whole.

Mr. Marples

The information is not readily available and could not be provided except after extensive research by the Birmingham Police. If the hon. Member has a particular point in mind, perhaps he will let me know.

Mr. Cleaver

Is my right hon. Friend aware that a large number of fatal accidents in the division have been attributed to the bad lighting and the dangerous conditions on the Coventry road?

Mr. Marples

I have not received any information about that. If my hon. Friend will let me have more details I will gladly look into them.
