HC Deb 07 May 1963 vol 677 cc223-4
38. Mr. Lipton

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works why he allowed a film to be made in Richmond Park, giving lessons in bull-fighting, which was shown in a British Broadcasting Corporation television programme on 5th April last.

Mr. Rippon

I did not.

Mr. Lipton

What action is the right hon. Gentleman taking to ensure that there is no repetition of this very doubtful practice? Is he not aware that bullfighting is illegal under British law and that it is a misuse of the Royal Parks for the right hon. Gentleman to allow them to be used for this kind of thing?

Mr. Rippon

The hon. Gentleman did not listen to the Answer. There will be no repetition because there has been no first instance. The hon. Gentleman is, perhaps, charging like a bull at a red flag which does not exist.
