HC Deb 07 May 1963 vol 677 c224
39. Miss Quennell

asked the Post master-General if he is aware that letters posted in London at mid-day on Friday do not reach their Alton address on Monday morning following; and what steps he is taking to improve this service.

The Assistant Postmaster-General (Mr. Ray Mawby)

A letter for Alton posted in London at mid-day on Friday should normally be delivered next morning. If my hon. Friend would let me have details of any instances in which this service has not been given I should be glad to look into the matter.

Miss Quennell

I thank my hon. Friend for that Answer. However, I regret to have to inform him that since I tabled the Question he has exceeded his own record in this regard, and I shall be delighted to supply him with the facts and figures.
