§ Mr. RipponIn 1962 nearly £125,000 was received from sales of guide books, postcards and colour slides at ancient monuments in my care, an increase of £19,000 over the previous year.

§ Mr. RipponI should have added that the figure includes sales at historic buildings as well as ancient monuments. I quite agree that these are important. We have increased sales quite dramatically over the past few years.
