§ As amended (in the Standing Committee), considered.
§ 11.4 a.m.
§ Mr. John Parker (Dagenham)On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. Could you indicate which Amendments are to be called, in view of the very large number which have been put down which are of the kind which should have been put down for the Committee stage? In effect, the Report stage is being converted into a Committee Stage?
§ Mr. SpeakerI do not quite understand this observation. If the hon. Gentleman looks in the customary place now, he will find a list of the Amendments selected. With regard to the Report stage being converted into a Committee stage, the power of selection is, virtually, vested exclusively in the Chair. The Chair is responsible for what has been selected.
