§ Mr. WhitelawThree hundred and thirty-one people whose last employment was in the furniture and upholstery industry were registered as unemployed in the Shoreditch area on 14th January, 1963, compared with 109 on 10th December, 1962. The national totals of unemployed in manufacturing industries other than furniture and upholstery at these dates were 214,326 and 187,372 respectively.
