HC Deb 24 June 1963 vol 679 cc921-2
11. Sir W. Wakefield

asked the Minister of Health what steps he proposes to take to ensure an adequate supply of medical officers of health to staff the new posts which will be created under the new health and welfare plan, having regard to the financial disadvantages at present suffered by medical officers of health in comparison with other branches of the profession.

Mr. Powell

I have no reason to expect that local authorities will be unable to fill these posts.
