Lords Amendment: In page 6, line 30, leave out
the proviso to section 5(1) of".
§ Mr. du CannI beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment.
Remarking upon the fervour with which the last Lords Amendment was accepted. I would only say that this is a purely technical drafting matter, and I hope that it will similarly be accepted with generosity.
§ Mr. HoughtonThat is not really the correct description. This was a mistake 1006 in the Bill. It was an oversight, an omission, slapdash work, put right in another place.
§ Mr. du CannI would ask the hon. Gentleman this question. Would it not have been very helpful to have drawn our attention to this earlier? I very much regret that he did not draw our attention to it earlier, for if he had we should have been quite ready to rectify the omission.
§ Mr. Robert CookeDoes my hon. Friend think that the trustees, in their first triennial report, will be able to give an account of the speeches by the hon. Member for Sowerby (Mr. Houghton)—possibly in illustrated form?
§ Question put and agreed to.
