asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will now state the policy of Her Majesty's Government on resale price maintenance.

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is yet able to announce the result of his inquiry into resale price maintenance.

I have nothing to add to the Answer I gave to the hon. Member for Bolton, West (Mr. Holt) on 21st February.

The President of the Board of Trade has been giving us that Answer for months. Is there any hope of his ever making up his mind on this crucial issue?

This issue affects millions of consumers and hundreds of thousands of retailers and distributors. It is a complex and controversial matter, and I think it better that one should take some time in making up one's mind rather than do it too hastily.
