HC Deb 02 July 1963 vol 680 cc182-3
24. Mr. J. P. W. Mallalieu

asked the President of the Board of Trade what representations he has received this year about the dumping in this country of cotton yarn.

Mr. Erroll

I have received complaints about the alleged dumping of exports from a number of countries, and discussions are currently taking place with the industry about imports from Portugal.

Mr. Mallalieu

Did the right hon. Gentleman at the same time receive any complaints about the import of yarn from Spain? Is he aware that Spanish yarn is being sold here at 42s. per 1b. when the selling price in Spain is nearer 56s.?

Mr. Erroll

No complaints have been brought to my personal notice, though they may have been raised with my Department.
