§ 14. Mr. Milneasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what extra 736 assistance he will now give to housing authorities in development districts with a view to attracting new industries.
§ Sir K. JosephA special subsidy for new houses to meet the urgent needs of industry is already available under the Housing Act, 1961. I cannot increase this subsidy without legislation, but I have undertaken on the Government's behalf to keep subsidies under review.
§ Mr. MilneIs the Minister aware that this will give some cause for pleasure in the areas mentioned, but in view of the recent unemployment figures, will he take steps to ensure that the points which he has made to the Government are indeed complied with at the earliest possible moment?
