§ 31. Mr. Awberyasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that four residential colleges for trainees have not received the additional allowances granted by his Department, that the syllabus of the Ministry of Labour trainees at these establishments is the same as at other training centres which receive the grant, and that many of the trainees do not receive the full 100 per cent. disablement grant; and if he will take steps to put them all on the same basis.
§ The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour (Mr. William Whitelaw)I would refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply my right hon. Friend gave the hon. Member for Durham (Mr Grey) on 12th December.
§ Mr. AwberyWill the Minister take steps to see that wherever these men are trained, in whatever colleges, uniformity of treatment is meted out to them by the Government?
§ Mr. WhitelawMy right hon. Friend appreciates the strength of feeling on this subject and hopes to be in a position to make a statement soon.
