asked the Postmaster-General if he will install a post office to serve the Wyrley Birch and Brookvale estates in Erdington, Birmingham.

I am looking into this matter and will write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.

I am grateful to know that the hon. Gentleman is looking into this matter. Will he bear in mind that considerable inconvenience is experienced by the residents of these areas as they have to walk long distances to obtain post office facilities? May I express the hope that he will expedite his consideration?

Yes. I have already had a look at the problem, and I see the point of the hon. Gentleman's question, but I should like a little more time before making a firm decision.
