HC Deb 16 December 1963 vol 686 cc829-30
13. Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has completed his review of the problem of creating economic farms out of uneconomic holdings.

Mr. Soames

I have nothing to add to the Answer I gave my hon. Friend on 22nd July.

Mr. Digby

Will my hon. Friend bear in mind the fact that this is a complicated and long-term problem, involving fixed equipment and many other things, and that premature conclusions might be unwise?

Mr. Soames

Yes. There is a great deal of truth in what my hon. Friend says. These are not decisions into which we should be rushed lightly.
