HC Deb 01 August 1963 vol 682 c642
Q7. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Prime Minister what reply he has now received from President de Gaulle to the letter he sent on 25th July.

The Prime Minister

I have not yet received a reply.

Mr. Henderson

In view of the statement made by President de Gaulle at his Press conference on Monday last about the action of the Anglo-Saxons, will the Prime Minister make it clear that Her Majesty's Government would warmly welcome the co-operation of the French Government in the efforts that are being made by the Anglo-Saxons to reduce East-West tension and to promote an advance towards general disarmament, and that the French Government could make a notable contribution by signing or adhering to the nuclear test ban treaty?

The Prime Minister

We hope to discuss all these matters fully with our allies, including our French allies.
