Gentleman aware that the Minister and his predecessor have shown a keen interest in our helping the cause of education in under-developed countries; that this was an anomaly which prevented postgraduates from making their contribution, and that the education world will be grateful to the Minister for this announcement?
§ Mr. ChatawayI am grateful to the hon. Member. The view had hitherto been taken that the cost of these grants ought to fall on the overseas departments and the aid coming through the British Council, but I believe that this will be a more satisfactory arrangement.
