HC Deb 08 April 1963 vol 675 c895
9. Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Minister of Labour how many new employment exchanges he proposes to open in Scotland in the next financial year; and how many will be opened in the first six months of 1963.

Mr. Hare

I have no plans at present for opening new employment exchanges in Scotland in the next financial year. So far in 1963 I have opened one new employment exchange and three new sub-offices. I will, of course, consider opening additional local offices wherever a need is established.

Mr. Hamilton

Is this part of the Government's plan to move offices out of London as far as possible?

Mr. Hare

As I understood the question, the hon. Member wanted to know whether I proposed opening new employment exchanges. That is the question I have answered.
