§ 37. Mr. Hannanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will consult with the appropriate authorities with a view to introducing legislation to establish in Glasgow permanent sittings of the Court of Session and the Court of Justiciary.
§ Mr. NobleThe High Court of Justiciary already sits in Glasgow as required. I do not think that there is any need to contemplate a change in the arrangements for the Court of Session.
§ Mr. HannanIs not the right hon. Gentleman aware of the congestion at the Glasgow courts, and will he look into the matter?
§ Mr. NobleI am aware of the congestion at the Glasgow courts, but the problem of whether the Court of Session should sit in Glasgow seems to me to be a different one from that of the congestion of the ordinary courts.
