Motion made, and Question,

That it is expedient to authorise charges to stamp duty arising from—

  1. (a) any provision for treating as a lease for a definite term any lease granted for a 504 fixed term and thereafter until determined, and for construing section 75 of the Stamp Act 1891 accordingly;
  2. (b) any provision relating to the duty chargeable under paragraph (2) (a) of the heading "Lease or Tack" in Schedule 1 to that Act.—[Mr. Maudling.]
