§ 13. Sir John Maitlandasked the Minister of Health when the first part of the project for Boston Hospital will go out to tender.
§ Mr. Powell1965.
§ Sir J. MaitlandWe have been waiting rather a long time for this hospital—I think it was mooted eight years ago. Can my right hon. Friend be a little more specific? Can he say whether it is early in 1965, or when will it be?
§ Mr. PowellAs early as I can make it in 1965, but I should not like to be more specific at this stage. As my hon. Friend knows, I have been in touch with him about this matter for a long time. The problem which arose was that the design which resulted from a competition had to be almost completely redrawn. In the course of that it was decided to increase both the size of the hospital and the facilities. So I hope that Boston will get a better and larger hospital, although somewhat later.
