§ 25. Mr. Willisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many cars have been distributed to disabled war pensioners in Scotland as a result of the extension of the scheme in 1960.
§ Mr. MaclayOne hundred and sixty-six.
§ Mr. WillisIn view of the fact that the Government appear to have completed this particular programme on time, would the right hon. Gentleman approach his hon. and right hon. Friends to see whether this scheme could now be extended to miners and other industrial workers?
§ Mr. MaclayThis question was fully debated two years ago and again as recently as 29th January last. The position remains that the provision of cars as part of this preferential treatment is reserved for war pensioners, and the Government really cannot undertake to provide cars for N.H.S. patients.
