asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science if he will make a statement about the proposed Social Science Research Council.

I have nothing to add to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Lanark (Mrs. Hart) on 27th February.

I think that the Parliamentary Secretary said some time ago that discussions about this matter were going on. Can he give us any idea about when they are likely to come to fruition?
