HC Deb 12 July 1962 vol 662 cc1498-9
22. Mr. A. Royle

asked the Minister of Education what special investigations are at present being carried out by his medical officers.

Mr. K. Thompson

Investigations at present in hand include studies over several years of groups of children suffering from defective hearing, blindness and partial sight, cerebral palsy and word blindness, as well as a long-term study of certain aspects of the growth of children.

Mr. Royle

When does my hon. Friend expect this information to be available to hon. Members?

Mr. Thompson

I would expect an interim report on one or two of the subjects to be available later this year, probably in the report which my right hon. Friend will present to the House on the health of the school child. Some of the other reports will be delayed because of the long-term nature of the study.
