§ Mr. SpeakerI have a statement to make to the House.
It appears that the work of the Committee which I appointed on 29th May to advise us on certain accommodation matters would be facilitated by some revision in its terms of reference. I therefore give the following new terms of reference:
To consider and recommend how best an area of approximately 40,000 sq. ft. on the Bridge St. site might be used for permanent accommodation for the purposes of the House of Commons, and, to this end, to take into account the recommendations of Mr. Speaker's Committee on Accommodation in Session 1960–61.
