§ 35. Mr. McInnesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the Guest Committee on Licensing is likely to submit its Second Report dealing with the Sale of Excisable Liquor in areas of housing development and re-development.
§ Mr. Brooman-WhiteI understand that the Second Report of Lord Guest's Committee will probably be submitted during the latter part of this year, or early next year.
§ Mr. McInnesIs not the hon. Gentleman aware that here, again, we have a Committee which was appointed two-and-a-half years ago? Does he not agree that something is needed to expedite the work of these Committees? For example, would it not be worth the hon. Gentleman's while to investigate how often they meet?
§ Mr. Brooman-WhiteThe hon. Gentleman will be aware that Lord Guest's remit was dealt with in two parts, and one very complicated part has been reported on already.
§ Mr. SteeleAm I to understand from the Answers given by the Under-Secretary to these two Questions that both of these Committees are working to rule?
§ Mr. Brooman-WhiteThey are both, we trust, working effectively.
