Hyndasked the Lord Privy Seal whether he will make a statement on the recent discussions by the Deputies of the Committee of Ministers with regard to Recommendation 290 of the Council of Europe concerning atmospheric pollution; and what action will be taken by Her Majesty's Government in regard to this Recommendation.
§ Mr. HeathThe Council of Europe Consultative Assembly's proposal for a conference on air pollution is still under consideration by the Committee of Ministers' Deputies. Her Majesty's Government are giving serious consideration to the issues raised by this proposal.
§ Mr. HyndWill the Minister realise that this is probably the first opportunity we have had of trying to bring together all the multifarious experience and activities of different countries in this connection? Will he give close attention to the necessity for assisting in this direction by the implementation of that report?
