§ Mr. ThorpeI beg to ask leave to present a Petition on behalf of 3,502 electors in the Orpington Parliamentary 2 Constituency, whose names have been collected during the past 48 hours.
The Petition shows that, since 1st October, 1961, the electors of Orpington have been unrepresented in your honourable House of Commons, that no steps have been taken to cause the election of a new Member to be held for the said constituency of Orpington, and that the electors of the said constituency have thereby been and are still disfranchised.
Wherefore, your Petitioners humbly pray that the Speaker of your honourable House be moved to issue his warrant for a new writ to fill the vacancy in the said constituency of Orpington.And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever humbly pray.
