HC Deb 15 February 1962 vol 653 c1509
Q3. Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the need to keep the nation informed of current economic problems and policies, he will undertake to give a regular monthly talk on television.

The Prime Minister

Since this Question is clearly the preliminary to a well-prepared supplementary, I prefer to wait for this before answering.

Mr. Hamilton

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that that was a very good Answer, but that it could have been better? Will he undertake to examine this matter in the light of the tremendous impact that his last appearance had, particularly on Members like the hon. and gallant Member for the Isle of Ely (Sir H. Legge-Bourke)? In view of the enormous help that that kind of performance would give to this side of the House—

Sir T. Moore

Too well prepared!

Mr. Hamilton

—would the right hon. Gentleman repeat the performance, because it was as revealing as the performance of a strip-tease performer and just about as relevant to our economic problems?

The Prime Minister

I rather thought that there was a catch in it somewhere.
