HC Deb 13 February 1962 vol 653 cc1115-6
Mr. Brockway

On a point of order. I do not want to delay proceedings, but I wish to draw your attention, Mr. Speaker, to the fact that I had a Question down to the Prime Minister today on the subject of the tests on Christmas Island. Only two hours ago was I informed that that Question had been transferred to another Minister. I submit that that is not good enough and it is time that the whole question of the method of transferring Questions was considered by you, Sir, or by representatives of the House.

Mr. Speaker

What the hon. Member has said will have been heard, but I must adhere to the position, which he knows, that the Chair cannot undertake any responsibilities with regard to transfer. It is not practicable in the circumstances. I hope that, in view of what the hon. Member has said, notice will be taken of what happened in this particular case.
