§ 37. Mr. Shinwellasked the Minister of Transport what schemes he has in contemplation for road development in South-East Durham to enable improved transport facilities to be brought into the area covered by the new town of Peterlee and the Easington Rural District Council.
§ Mr. MarplesPeterlee and Easington will benefit from several of the road improvements planned for County Durham. In particular, the A. 19 is being improved by stages throughout the county. The widening of a 5-mile length of this road a few miles south of Peterlee, and the provision of a roundabout at a difficult road junction in Easington Village, are included in my trunk roads programme.
