Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to make certain amendments to the law relating to highways, streets and bridges in England and Wales, it is expedient to authorise any increase attributable to that Act—

  1. (1) in the sums payable out of moneys provided by Parliament—
    1. (a) in respect of the expenses of the Minister of Transport under section two hundred and thirty-six of the Highways Act, 1959, or the Trunk Roads Acts, 1936 and 1946;
    2. (b) by way of Rate-deficiency Grant or Exchequer Equalisation Grant under the enactments relating to local government in England and Wales or in Scotland; and
  2. (2) in the sums payable into the Exchequer under the section aforesaid.—[Mr. Selwyn Lloyd.]
