17. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a detailed statement on the regulations governing the imports of various kinds of oil to Great Britain for industrial purposes, indicating the country from which each comes and the amounts imported during each of the last five years.

Oil and oil products for all purposes are subject to import licensing regulations only when imported from the countries of the Eastern Area. With permission, I shall circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of these countries and the amounts of oil of kinds which might be used for industrial purposes imported from each during the last five years.
