§ Mr. GreyIs the hon. Gentleman aware of the general feeling in my constituency that there is more uncertainty now than there has been since 1945 and that the working of the Local Employment Act is not to our advantage at all? How many years will it be before these new jobs are taken up?
§ Mr. MacphersonI am afraid I could not give a definite answer to the last part of that supplementary question. It might be two, three or four years, but during that period, of course, more jobs should be developing. One has to have regard to expansion as well as to new industry coming in.
