§ 26. Mr. Holtasked the Minister of Health if he is satisfied that the legislation relating to the carrying of scheduled poisons by representatives of the pharmaceutical industry is adequate for the protection of the public; what consideration he has given to the need for amending legislation; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PowellIf the hon. Member will let me know what difficulty he has in mind, I will consider it with my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary.
§ Mr. HoltI thank the right hon. Gentleman for that reply, but may I ask whether he is aware that many of these representatives have no special medical knowledge and that frequently these poisons are lost from the representatives' cars? Does he not think that this situation is rather unsatisfactory and that it should be looked into?
§ Mr. PowellI will consider that. The legislation, of course, does not relate at all to the carrying of poisons but to their sale or supply. But I will consider that point.
