HC Deb 17 July 1961 vol 644 c874
30. Mr. Fitch

asked the Minister of Power how much coal has been sold out of undistributed stocks to the latest convenient date this year.

Mr. Wood

In the 26 weeks to 1st July, undistributed stocks fell by 6.2 million tons.

Mr. Fitch

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that this coal was sold without any reduction in its price? Will he convey this news to his hon. Friend the Member for Kidderminster (Mr. Nabarro)?

Mr. Wood

I think that my hon. Friend the Member for Kidderminster is probably already aware of that, because he takes the closest interest in these matters, but I do not think that his fears will be entirely removed until all the coal put into stock has been sold.
