§ 35. Mr. Haymanasked the President of the Board of Trade haw many applications for help for industries in the Falmouth and Camborne constituency have been received since 26th July, 1960; and how many of these, and of applications then under consideration, have been granted.
§ Mr. MaudlingEight further applications for assistance under the Local Employment Act, 1960 have been received from this area since 26th July, 1960. All of these and one of those received before that date are under consideration. Of the remaining three received before 26th July, one has been withdrawn and two rejected.
§ Mr. HaymanDid one of the two which were rejected come from a firm which would have brought a completely new industry to my constituency and would eventually have employed 400 people? Will the right hon. Gentleman have that case looked into again, because there is still a very serious unemployment problem in my constituency?
§ Mr. MaudlingIf the hon. Gentleman will write to me with the details, I shall be very glad to look into the matter.
