§ 34. Dr. A. Thompsonasked the Minister of Education what has been the outcome of his consultation with the Bristol Education Authority over the granting of an award to enable a student to complete his studies at Edinburgh University.
§ Sir D. EcclesI understand that the Bristol Local Education Authority will shortly reconsider this general question, including the extension of this student's grant to cover his fourth year at Edinburgh University. As soon as I know the outcome I will write to the hon. Member.
§ Dr. ThompsonI thank the right hon. Gentleman for that helpful reply. Will he bear in mind that most authorities give grants to English students to study at Edinburgh, even though the course there is rather longer than it is in England, and that we hope that the Bristol authority will follow suit?
