HC Deb 07 February 1961 vol 634 cc207-8
41. Mr. Prentice

asked the Prime Minister whether he will go to New York in March to attend the resumed meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The Prime Minister

I have nothing to add to what I said on 2nd February.

Mr. Prentice

While appreciating the importance of the Commonwealth Prime Ministers' Meeting, which clashes with the General Assembly, may I ask whether it now seems possible that there will be a converging of world leaders on New York in March, as there was in the autumn? Will the right hon. Gentleman see that the British delegation is led by a senior Minister, and still keep open the possibility of going himself?

The Prime Minister

All these considerations have to be borne in mind. The calendar gets rather overcharged with these possible meetings, but I will keep in mind what the hon. Gentleman says.
