§ Mr. MaclayI have had comments from thirty-one of the thirty-seven bodies which received the memorandum. It made no proposals, but merely set out the questions calling for consideration in a fundamental review of teacher training.
§ Mr. RankinIf, as the right hon. Gentleman states, he has made no proposals, why does the teaching profession, as represented by its national organisations, believe that he has made proposals, which the profession has criticised adversely on the ground that they will lower the status of entry to the teaching profession?
