Resolved,
That, for the purpose of any Act of the present Session to amend section thirty-one of the National Assistance Act. 1948, and to empower local authorities to provide meals and recreation for old people, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of any increase in the sums payable by way of Rate-deficiency Grant or Exchequer Equalisation Grant under the enactments relating to local government in England and Wales or in Scotland which is attributable to the new Act.—[Sir E.
