§ 14. Lieut.-Colonel Cordeauxasked the Minister of Health when it is expected that the new children's villas now being built at Balderton Hospital will be completed.
§ Mr. PowellBefore the end of next year.
§ Lieut.-Colonel CordeauxIs my right hon. Friend aware that there are mentally deficient and severely handicapped children in Nottingham who have been waiting now for years for accommodation in hospitals and whose parents are no longer physically capable of looking after them? They have become seriously ill and are under the strain, and all that can be done is to push the children around from hospital to hospital to find accommodation. Will my right hon. Friend do what he can to accelerate the building of these children's villas as that is the only hope for children who require permanent hospital accommodation?
§ Mr. PowellI agree that these villas are urgently needed and, as my hon. and gallant Friend knows, they are under construction. The work is proceeding according to schedule.
